Valerio Adami
Valerio Adami Spettacolo Allaperto 1967 oil on canvas 31.9" x 39.4"

Adami and Patrick Caulfield were two painters that I have always had an interest in. Their use of line and bold color, interior and exterior space in the 60's was a harbinger of things to come in the 70's graphic styles in commercial art as well as funkier movements in the graphic based imagery of pop surrealism. I love the ambiguity of the Adami piece illustrated above. Both artists had such conviction.

I share your linking of Adami & Caulfield, both struck me ,when I came upon the work as you did in the 60's ,as a way forward.

Thanks for the comment Gary. They were touch stones for me especially since I was doing serigraphs at the time and the imagery resonated with me.
