I am not usually attracted to expressionistic abstraction but in Lawlor's case how could I not be. These elegant offerings delight the senses in every way. The paint handling is magnificent, the color thoughtful and the scale impressive. My first thought when I saw the work was, how does she keep those massive brushes so pristine as she paints and cleans each one throughout the process. They also reminded me a bit of Lesley Vance's work.
