Bascha Mon is an artist that fuses abstraction and narration in a wonderful straight forward manner. Her work imbues the spontaneity and thoughtfulness of a artist who is fully engaged with her process and committed to her view of the world. The afore mentioned attributes combined with empathy for humanity make her efforts resonate with me.

Zak Prekop
Zak Prekop Untitled 2016 oil on canvas 35" x 27"

I like Zak Prekops painting because it is so apparently simple yet complex. He paints behind the canvas and on top of it. He leaves raw canvas and stained areas that set up a complex set of visuals that intrigue me. He is also the son of an old friend of mine from Chicago days in the 70's. A creative family of 3 sons and a father that continue to push boundaries in their chosen fields.
