Chris Martin
Chris Martin 28 2015 acrylic, oil and glitter on canvas 135.2" x 117.75"

This is Martin's second exhibition with Kordansky and his first in the new location with it's cavernous space and beautiful lighting. Martin is more than up to the task of holding the space with his huge colorful paintings. Martin, whose home base is in New York, uses scale, materials and above all color to achieve work that envelops the viewer in a psychedelic trip through his view of culture. I almost get the feeling that he is channeling the west coast more than the east with his obsession with Amy Winehouse imagery intertwined with glittery surfaces. I felt the specter of Bay Area Funk as I walked through the gallery.
